1. Kem Sg Pauh
The most popular campsite in Cameron Highlands by a mile, Kem Sungai Pauh is usually the first choice that comes to mind when one plans a camping trip to Cameron Highlands. Situated in Kampung Taman Sedia, halfway between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, this scenic campsite is surrounded by tall pine trees and a gentle stream that’s great for a quick dip.
There are ample facilities like clean toilets, bathrooms, prayer rooms, barbecue pits and more to suit the needs of every camper. One gripe we had was that the parking area is rather far away from the campsite. Furthermore, you have to book in advance, sometimes weeks to months ahead, as the campsite is often full, especially during weekends and public holidays.
2. Pine Valley Villa & Camper Site
Located on the fringes of Tanah Rata, the Pine Valley Villa campsite is perfect for beginners, for those who want the camping experience but without leaving modern comforts like working electricity and internet connection behind. There are a few convenience stores nearby should you feel the need to grab a quick snack, as well as ample toilets, bathrooms and barbecue area. The campsite is also spacious enough to accommodate several camper vans in its compound
3. MPGV Hikers Paradise
Tucked away in a quiet spot along the Simpang Pulai-Lojing road, MPGV Hikers Paradise offers up a petite-sized campsite that sits beside a small stream, surrounded by rustic atmosphere and rainforest-draped hills. The facilities here are basic but enough to keep campers happy, such as toilets and barbecue pits.
4. Cozy Leisure Farm Bertam Valley
Surrounded by a verdant garden overlooking the picturesque Bertam Valley, Cozy Leisure Farm features a well-maintained campsite that comes equipped with clean toilets, bathrooms, barbecue area and yes, Wi-Fi! There’s both outdoor and indoor camping on offer, to suit every camping style. It’s quite pricey to pitch your tent here for the night, however watching the sunrise from the comforts of your tent here is worth the price of admission.
5. Masjid Lojing Highlands Campsite
This quiet, secluded campsite in Lojing is perfect for a peaceful getaway and to reconnect with nature. Sitting on the edge of the Pahang-Kelantan border, just a 40-minute drive from Tanah Rata, Masjid Lojing Highlands campsite offers breathtaking mountain views, and basic amenities like toilets, bathrooms, barbecue pits and prayer rooms. 6. Hola Campsite
Sitting on the peak of Golden Hills in between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, the recently opened Hola Campsite is a private campsite with space for a limited number of tents.
